You asked and we listened. The newest members of the Semihandmade color family, available in Supermatte thermofoil, are finally here. 

“We hadn’t added new colors to the Semihandmade assortment in nearly two years, and the timing felt right to explore this,” says Semihandmade President Beth Brenner. 

Not only is renovation interest at an all-time high, but design trends, many inspired by this new post-pandemic world, have influenced the need and desire for new offerings. Whether customers are looking to swap outdated cabinets for fronts in a more peaceful palette, gut renovate a dysfunctional kitchen, or create a highly organized work-from-home station, Semihandmade has dedicated itself to a discovery process focused on its customers.

So how did Semihandmade go about this? “A look at our Instagram feed reveals the cabinet colors and styles that customers are loving now,” Brenner says. “We also consulted with our vendor partners to see which styles and colors were readily available, but not currently offered, by Semihandmade. Bring on the off-white, mossy green hues, and Scandinavian-inspired woods. 

While the DIY Shaker and DIY Slab doors have been great vehicles of creativity, it was time to provide doors in the two most popular color families, as well as a maintenance-free light oak.. Stone, the greige you’ve always wanted, and Moss, a muted, understated forest green, were musts, as well as Oakley, a light wood Supermatte that resembles BOXI by Semihandamde’s Oat Slab cabinets. “Oat was a big hit for BOXI right out of the gate, so we wanted to offer something similar for Semihandmade and IKEA customers,” she adds. 

The new colors are already hits in the design world and complement Semihandmade’s 36  other styles and colors. Stone is available for Sektion, Besta, and Godmorgon in Shaker, Quarterline, Beaded, and Slab. Moss is available for Sektion in Shaker, Quarterline, Beaded, and Slab, and Oakley is available for Sektion in Slab and Quarterline.
